This latest advancement in home theater technology uses the same principles as human sight to achieve three dimensional viewing from a two-dimensional screen. Because our two eyes are slightly offset from one another, each sees a particular scene or object from two slightly different angles. In order to perceive depth — in addition to height and width — our brains process the separate images seen by each eye into one unified image. Similarly, 3D movie cameras use two lenses, slightly offset, to film two different versions of the movie from slightly different angles. Then, at home, your 3D-ready LG HDTV plays back those two versions of the movie, alternating one by one frames from each version. From there, communicating wirelessly with the HDTV, your active shutter glasses (sold separately) alternately block out their liquid-crystal lenses, ensuring that each of your eyes sees only that version of the movie intended for that eye. If you have a larger head I am a 7 34 hat size these become difficult to wear longer than 30 minutes. Instead of these resting on your ears, they pinch the side of your head. My wife and daughter have no complaints because their heads are small enough to not have a lot of pressure from the ends of the glasses. Performace wise they are fine however, the wide flat lenses tend to pick up reflections of items behind you. The cover over the USB port for charging is also hard to open and close.

They are light. I have not had the disconnecting problem some people have. Wonder if it is a distance from the TV or battery power issue?

The TV is great for the price. Obviously, it comes down to where you use it....bright room? Get an LED....darker, dimmer space used for home theater? Go with plasma.
As far as Vanns is concerned, I was truly impressed with the personalized service I received...not only during the sale, but post-sale when there were a few bumps in the road with my order. Without mentioning specifics, my matter was handled rapidly, professionally ,and extremely fairly...Seriously, what more do you want? THESE GLASSES ARE NOT EASY TO USE. THEY SHUT OFF BY THEMSELVES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PROGRAM AND THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO START UP AGAIN AT THE TOUCH OF THE BUTTON. DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. WILL LOOK INTO DIFFERENT GLASSES.

I had reservations about purchasing a TV online. I couldnt be happier! I got a great deal, ran into a prob with my order, and was pleasantly surprised by great people to work with. The 3d TV and glasses are great! If you are wall mounting make sure you use spacers or are mounting to a bracket that isnt tight against the wall. Very happy -Sam

The Glass work well on true 3d movies, sometimes they would work on 2d movies that were changed to 3d by the television.
