My wife and I both love the looks of these speakers...and they are the perfect height 36. Anything shorter wouldnt have brought the surround speakers to ear level while seated on the couch. I like how it hides the speaker wire, and although it can be testy trying to get the black plastic to bend and hide the wire, its not too tough. However, when working the plastic cover into the groovechannel to conceal the speaker wire, the wood chips easily. Overall, the wood seems to be of good quality, but its VERY vulnerable where the cables are concealed. I used a black Sharpie and it hid most of the chips where the black paint was chipped off.
I got them for about $60, a good discount versus what most people charge. Personally, I think $60 is still a lot for what is essentially two pieces of wood, but Ill give it a four-star rating at this price point.

I love the stands... The finish is great and I put a little heat on the wiring covers. Just use a blow dryer and flex it a little and put it into the groves.
I have Polk Audio FX500i which are fairly large surrounds and they are sturdy. Just need to find a L bracket and fasten to the hang plate on the back of the speaker and it will be perfect.
30 high is perfectly ear level when sitting in a couch.
LOVE IT! and love the price. Would definitely recommend.

For the price, I doubt that there is anything better.
As an ex-cabinet maker, I appreciate the clean design.
One word of advice, get the proper screwdriver.
A screw gun with low speed and an adjustable clutch worked like a charm.
Start with a weaker torque & work your way up.

The stands look great, nice and clean. The speaker cord cover in the back is a thin plastic black slat that is inserted into angled groove slots--just know that you have to really bend the slat quite a bit to get them to fit. Itll seem like the plastic is going to shatter in your hands but it doesnt and slips into the grooves nicely. Other than that, the set up was a snap. Theres a wide array of good quality mounting accessories included. I ended up using the stick-on rubber pads for the top and square rubber feet for the bottoms. My package was droppedroughly handled and the box was damaged and one of the corners of one of the stands was marred a bit but a few strokes of the Sharpie marker took care of it.

These stands are great. Although the first ones came broken in transit and were immediately replaced by Vanns.
I have Polk Monitor 40s on these stands and they are fairly stable. They have a matte finish. Could not find better stands for the price.

Went together slick as a whistle. The only difficulty was getting the wiring cover pieces fitted in the back of the post, but thats on me and my less than strong fingers. Looks great and steady as a rock. Have Veritas Mini speakers on them now but plan to try the Veritas 5.1s.
A happy camper.

The product is fine, no complaints.
However, when i arrived it was missing all the hardware to assemble. call Vanns and they said they could not ship more hardware and that i had to call manufacture - thats the first strike. So i call manufacturer, they shipped me hardware that arrived the next week - second strike. I needed these speaker stands for an upcoming event which was why they were orginially shipped expedited and needless to say they were not ready by then because i had to wait for the hardware. Then, when the hardware arrived it was THE WRONG HARDWARE - strike three. I called Vanns again very upset and the only option that would get me functioning stands quickly was to purchase a second set and then return the defective set. To their credit they did overnight the new set at no cost to me. But overall this was way more work than i intended to go through just for speaker stands.
LIke i said, product was fine, do business at your own decision.

These are the perfect height to have your speakers reach over the back of a standard sized couch which is exactly what i wanted for my rear surrounds. Build quality is very good. They could be heavier but are wide enough for most uses. The top plate is 6x6. This could be larger as well but if you use picture handing contact strips that lock together your speakers wont go anywhere. They come with spikes or rubber feet. They also come with mini pins to have your speakers sit just above the top plate for reduced resonances. Finally Vanns has the best prices on them by far. I have Energy CB-20s and Energy RC-10s on these stands and they work perfectly.

Ive never shopped at Vanns before, but did so because I knew this item was what I wanted and Vanns had it cheapest after shipping charges. The item shipped as expected and arrived undamaged. There was a slight cosmetic blemish on one of the stands, but it doesnt show too much. The stands are sturdy and look nice--they blend in nicely with my black sound system. I was expecting an attachment on the plate to secure the speakers in place, but there is none. So far this isnt a problem. The stands are secure and solid, but I wouldnt recommend them for high traffic areas kids and large pets. Setup was painless 7-10 minutes per stand. The cable management system was decent. A stiff, curvable plate tucks into grooves on the back of the stand, but it takes effort to get it into place. Altogether, a 910
