Okay, sure, you're going to enjoy watching the evening news or TV dramas in life-size HD on a big-screen flat panel HDTV. I have been a loyal Sony customer for many many years, and this product proves again why I keep coming back. Setup was a breeze. The picture is crisp and clean. There are enough connections to hook up any other piece of technology you can imagine. The swivel stand is a nice touch should the need arise to view the screen from a different angle. Only concern is that the speaker quality isnt the best - good but not great. I would guess most people purchasing this television will likely have their own sound systems installed, so it wouldnt even be an issue. All in all a super quality television at a great price!

After months of researching, specification checking, price comparisons, and where to buy my new HDTV, I finally settled on the Sony KDL-46EX500 and Vanns as the place to purchase my HDTV. I had never purchased a big ticket item like this before over the telephone, but my research indicated that if I was going to buy at the best price it would have to be Vanns.com. I called and talked to Mike their sales representative who was extremely helpful and assured me that if the TV arrived DOA or damaged, just to call a they would handle everything to get a new TV to me and pick up the defective TV. After I ordered the Sony KDL-46EX500, he immediately sent me an e-mail confirmation and the very next day as promised sent me an e-mail notifying me that the TV had shipped. The HDTV arrived six days later and in perfect condition. The KDL-46EX500 picture is stunning and its features are just what I had hoped it would be and more. The sound is amazing as well. It was extremely easy to setup and would highly recommend this HDTV to anyone who has a large enough room to really enjoy its wonderful picture and sound. I would also recommend Vanns.com for that next HDTV purchase.

Great TV. Looks great, worth the extra money to go to 120hz. Love the auto light sensor. Easy set up, easy to calibrate. It is a little thicker than I imagined, however it is still relatively thin. Vanns shipped this TV in a double box with plenty packing foam. They made sure it came in one piece. Good job Vanns.

Shopped for a flat screen for a long time before getting this one. I couldnt be happier. It arrived one day early just before the beginning of March Madness. Been enjoying the heck out of it.
Had it hooked up to my HD cable box, Sony DVDsurround system, and PS3 in about ten minutes.
I have a fairly large living room and the view from about 12 feet is outstanding. The picture quality is excellent from all angles. Gaming is great on this TV as well.
Under a grand for a 2010, 46 Sony with everything except internet which you can easily add using an Airport Extreme or other wireless hub.
I definitely recommend this one.

Picture quality and sound quality are excellent on this model. I purchased a Sanyo 46 with 60hz prior to purchasing this TV. It was a leader special at Wal-Mart. Price was good, but picture quality was poor. By purchasing my Sony from Vann which had this model $110 less than Wal-Mart and Bestbuy plus no sales tax and free shipping, I ended up with a superior machine for very little additional cost. Needless to say, I am very happy with my purchase.

i also use it for gaming my PS3 gets a work out ! best thing about this tv is the USB port my 500G external drive is connected and i have 1000s of movies right on my tv its just awesome!!! you have to compare to $1400 samsung but even then you dont get a usb port so thats what sold me to buy it! 55 or 1010 is the best value for 46 HDTV for under a grand !!!

Weve had our new 46 Sony LCD HDTV for only about 12 days, but were favorably impressed so far. For its size the unit is light and maneuverable, which is a pleasant change from the heavy brute 32 CRT TV which it replaces. The picture on the new set is amazing, and it basically came that way right out of the box. We found set-up to be quick, easy and straight-forward, even for folks like us who are not electronically-inclined. We set the TV up using the table-top stand. Perhaps if wed opted to use a wall mount it would have been more of a challenge. Seems this TV would be a real good choice those getting into a big screen TV for the first time, and at a reasonable price point.
Theres nothing about the TV were disappointed with, keeping in mind weve had it less than two weeks. Heres a few things we think are nice features
-- picture quality and clarity is great, with colors natural not exaggerated and it came this way right out of the box.
-- the table top stand swivels which makes it easy to adjust viewing angle to optimum.
--sound system is better than expected from looking a multitude of other big screen TV reviews on Sonys and other brands.
--the 46 size seems to be just about right for our room where average viewing distance is 11-12 feet. Our original fears that a 46 screen would appear too big and out of place in our living room were unfounded.
