Pro quality, amateur price
If you're looking for professional quality in a camera without breaking the bank, the Canon EOS Digital Rebel T2i is the one for you. This top-notch DSLR has a whopping 18-megapixel CMOS sensor to allow you to create gorgeous prints even at large sizes. It's packed with pro features, allowing you to customize every aspect of your photos for truly creative art. Of course, if you just want to shoot great pics without spending too much time adjusting settings, there are modes for automatic shooting, too. And this kit even comes with a starter lens. But the really cool thing is that you get this pro-quality DSLR for WELL under $1000.
Start out right
A quality camera can be a very heavy investment. Many DSLR camera bodies can run into the thousands of dollars. But even with such a steep sticker, most of those cameras don't include a lens. A decent lens can add hundred or even thousands to the camera's cost. This EOS Rebel T2i, on the other hand includes both the camera body and a quality starter lens for a very competitive price. The included 18 to 55mm lens is great for general shooting from close-up subjects to sweeping landscapes. And if you decide to make photography more than just a hobby, the T2i is compatible with a wide variety of lenses, allowing you to branch out into new areas.
Focus, now
When you're letting the camera choose some — or all — of your settings, you need to be able to trust that the camera knows what it's doing. Lucky for you, this little Rebel is at the top of its class for determining exposure and focus settings. For exposure, this EOS Rebel uses Canon's newest Dual-layer sensor, utilizing a full 63 zones to analyze your shot. But not only does the camera measure the amount of light, it takes color and luminosity into account, delivering extremely high accuracy to ensure you get a great shot every time. For focus, a high-precision 9-point system is used. Depending on what mode you're shooting with, the focus points can either be chosen automatically or manually selected.
Night and day
Unless you shoot in the same conditions every time you take the camera out, you'll need a wide ISO range to get good photos. And few, if any cameras in its class can beat the ISO range found on the EOS Digital Rebel T2i. Its range goes from 100 to 6400 with plenty of stops in between. So, rest assured that whether you're capturing a sunny day on the slopes or a peaceful countryside waking up, your pictures will come out as clear as, well, the real thing. The difference between its performance in extreme light situatious and most cameras' is night and day.
You're in control
In addition to good features and quality, a camera needs to be useable in order to be useful. And as far as usability goes, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i is plenty easy. It's been designed to make your experience as pain-free as possible. Part of making that happen meant adding a Quick Control Screen button for easy access to frequently used settings like ISO speed, Exposure, white balance, and much more. The improved layout also includes a designate Live View/Movie shooting button. Press it and you can easily switch between shooting 18-megapixel stills and recording Full HD video. It really is just that easy. You can view adjustments on the 3" Live View LCD, which has over a million dots for clear full-color viewing. It's got anti-reflection, scratch-resistant, and smudge-resistant coatings. Or, you can use the viewfinder for true SLR functionality.
Never give in
In photography, it's pretty much accepted that getting more frames per second comes at the steep expense of resolution. Breaking that mold, the EOS Rebel T2i can shoot up to 3.7 frames-per-second at its full 18-megapixel resolution. Depending on your memory card, subject, temperature, and other factors, you can use this continuous shooting to capture about 6 RAW images or 34 JPEGs, so you're always able to capture that pivotal moment of the action without sacrificing image quality.
Sometimes enough isn't enough
Even with its impressive continuous shooting capabilities, sometimes you can't quite capture the action the way you'd want. That's where the video mode of the T2i comes in. This impressive DSLR allows you to shoot Full HD 1920 x 1080 at film's native 24p framerate. Or, you can opt to shoot at 30p. If you don't want to go Full HD, you could always choose to film at 1280 x 720, 60p, or even standard definition at 60p. But in addition to getting more frames per second than you would using the continuous shooting option, the video mode also lets you record sound for your clips. There's a monaural microphone built in, or you add an external microphone for surround sound. Then, using a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable, you can play it back on your TV.

Being a Techy I buy a lot of items online. Before every purchase, I always lean against the checkout cart button for a while and research the product I am about to buy for around two months before actually buying it. With an item in this price range, I did more extensive research than usual.
I was looking for a camera that I could use for my web design company. Its primarily for promotional purposes of unsigned musicians. I was looking for a camera that took great video, even better pictures, and a camera within my budget.
I looked over plenty of music videos shot with the Canon t2i on youtube was very impressed. The video brings digital SLRS to a whole new level! Its amazing. As soon as I opened the box from Vanns, I instantly started shooting video with the automatic settings and, this purchase was worth it.
The pictures are even better. This is my first DSLR. The 18mp is awesome and the color depth is amazing as well. I am completely satisfied with this purchase.
From my research
the canon t2i is #1 in Canon Optical Viewfinder Digital Cameras- Google Shopping
The video taken by the t2i is the same exact video quality as the 60D and the 7D
The Image sensor is the same as the 60D and very similar to the 7D
Keep in mind, the 60D is about $400 more than the t2i. And the 7D is around $1000 more.
If you look through reviews on any web store, you will find that its rated 5 star. Literally every store, its crazy. I read through thousands of reviews and everyone loves this camera!
I chose Vanns because of there great rep on Amazon. I got my camera before the estimated delivery date.
I love this Camera!

This camera is amazing! It has the simplicity and ease of a point and shoot camera and yet offers all the manual options to do some very creative photography. The 18 megapixels will allow me to print very large quality photos without giving up sharpness and quality of the image. The camera is very comfortable due to the shape of the hand grip. I am still becoming familiar with this camera and cant wait to explore all of the creative functions. I also look forward to trying out the video recording functions of the camera.

I had been waiting for a long time to take the dive into the DSLR world of cameras. I had always owned Canon and loved them, so I did some research anyways but still stuck with Canon because of the highest raves about their products. This camera is out everywhere, but is SOOOO worth the wait! I love photography, and what is great about this camera is that it takes outstanding photos in the auto mode, but is also great for those who understand apeture, iso, etc...and can use the manual settings. Right out of the box, this camera is ready to go. I took my neices 12 and 17 out for a camera shoot, and they were amazed at the photos! As for the camera itself, it is fairly lightweight yet NOT cheap-feeling whatsoever. The lens that comes with it is a good everyday lens, but I also ordered from Vanns the 50mm lens and it takes wonderful portraits! The screen is crystal clear, and the menu is easy to navigate. If you are looking to step it up with your photos, you will LOVE this camera!! I had been intending to buy the basic SLR from Target, but after reading about the new Rebel, I'm glad I spent the extra $$ for it. The HD video is out of this world!! Id give this camera 11 stars out of 10 if I could. As to ordering it from Vanns...they are an awesome company! We order ALL of our electronics from them. I put in a preorder for the Rebel, and the communication was second to none from them. You aren't dealing with a computer, you're dealing with real people that are there to answer your questions. I've been so satisfied with Vanns, that last week when I was in a Best Buy looking for a camera case, there was a couple there looking at cameras. I told them all about the Canon Rebel t2i, and then told them about Vanns! I guess when you get such excellent service, you share it wherever you are

Because of out of stock I have been waiting for a long time from Vanns to ship this camera. This is a powerful camera and also a superb experience. I bought this camera for my wedding and honeymoon. I shoot a lot of pictures both indoor and outdoor and have found it is an excellent camera and love its ease of use. The buttons and menu are very user friendly and quick accessible. I do enjoy the lens coming with good for beginner professional style but I do suggest a decent lens like an f2.8 for low light action shots. My experience wont allow saying a bad remark against its battery life. I wont recommend you to shoot HD video by this camera but I have absolutely nothing negative to say on its video Home style clarity. The camera and lens are absolutely worth by this price. Most of the powerful lenses Canon EF and EF-S series available in the market are compatible with this camera. So you won't regret this purchase anyway!
