Groudbreaking shutter speed
With a split-second shutter response, low-noise ISO, and EXPEED image processing, the Nikon D90 creates stunning results. You'll be able to shoot 4.5 frames-per-second, use a Live View display, and capture video using the 720p movie mode. So, whether you're graduating from an advanced compact digital camera or are a seasoned DSLR enthusiast, the Nikon D90 emphasizes brilliant image quality and versatility with its exclusive advanced Scene Recognition System, intuitive creative controls, and blazing fast performance. It's even ready for geo-tagging accessorization.
An artist's implement
Photography isn't just rote documentation of a static world, it's an expressive art form that deserves the best equipment for the most dramatic results. To be truly creative, you need complete manual control, and the D90 has options across the board. For example, you get comprehensive exposure control with Shutter Priority, Aperture Priority, and Manual options. You also get exclusive in-camera editing featuring Fisheye effect, Straighten and Distortion Control, as well as D-lighting, Red-eye Reduction, Image Overlay, Monochrome, and more. Plus, the flash comes with options, too, such as advanced wireless lighting control.
An automatic wonder
But, the Nikon D90 also comes loaded with auto features so that you can stay involved in the action while you shoot your masterpieces. The 11-point AF system with face priority consistently produces fast and accurate autofocus. The Auto Active D-Lighting optimizes details within shadows and highlights, taming high-contrast situations in real time. The Nikon 3D Color Matrix Metering II with Scene Recognition System evaluates images, referencing an on-board database of over 30,000 photographic scenes, for unmatched exposure accuracy.
Durable, high-precision shutter
With the high-precision shutter, you'll get continuous shooting as fast as 4.5 frames-per-second. Combined with fast 0.15ms power-up and split-second 65ms shooting lag, dramatic action and decisive moments are captured easily. Plus, your shutter has been tested to last at least 100,000 cycles, which assures long shutter life and accuracy.
GPS geo-tagging optional accessory
Geo-tagging is when geographical information is added to your photograph, such as the latitude and longitude coordinates. Also able to mark altitude, bearing, and place names, geo-tagging can help users find a variety of location-specific information. For example, using an optional GPS accessory (sold separately), the D90 could take a picture of Mount Sentinal and share its exact coordinates with the world. The GPS accessory lets you tag the photo with its coordinates, so you can later upload it to an online map. Someone else will then be able to click on that location on the map, and select your picture to see an actual photo of Mount Sentinal at its exact coordinates. Geo-tagging is a popular hobby, and many high-end cameras come with the ability to add a GP-1 GPS unit.

I felt I was taking a risk by purchasing an expensive camera open box. I was thrilled to receive a brand new camera. Unused, just no outer box. The camera is great. I chose it after careful research and comparing it against the new D3100. The reason I chose the D90 was a larger, brighter viewfinder due to using a prism, unlike the mirrors used in the D3100, the ability to use more lenses due to having an internal focusing motor unlike the D3100, the ability to do bracketing for HDR the D3100 cant bracket, and after handling both I felt that the D90 felt more substantial and professional. I wouldve been happy with the D3100, but am happier with the D90.

I am very happy with this purchase. It was a returned item and the price was terrific. I also received the item four days before FED EX originally estimated it would get to me. Vanns packaging of the Nikon box could have been better padded. The item was complete with every item and accessory except for a warranty card. I trust I can register the item as a new item. It appears that the item was never used. As for the specifics of a Nikon D90, it is the Nikon Digital SLR to buy having all the features that you would ever want or use. You can set it on auto and let it do all the thinking and focusing or make tons of adjustments yourself.

First off I love Vanns.com! I have purchased nearly every electronic I own from them.
The Camera I upgraded to this camera from a Nikon D40x and let me tell you what...its a HUGE difference. This thing does everything, amazing pictures, video, fully customizable, etc. I got this camera yesterday and I havent been able to put it down since. If your on the fence about getting this dont hesitate because you will not regret it! Currently I am using two Nikon lenses on it. The first one is a fixed 50mm 1.8f lens and the second is a 18-135mm DX lens. I aboslutely love both of them and paired with the D90 they take extraordinary pictures. If you have never used a DSLR before dont worry, putty it on auto mode and your set to go! But I also suggest a book on the D90 for beginners and experienced users. Anyways I love this camera and am extremely happy with my purchase.
Vanns.com My favorite place to order electronics from! I ordered this on Sunday night with free shipping and it was at my door on Thursday! It was packaged very well and it also came with a free 4gb memory card. I will continue to order stuff from Vanns.com for many years to come.
