Small system, big sound

Even with a smaller system, the YSP2200 is on the ball in bringing the best in digital sound to the table. With access to the latest Dolby and DTS audio codecs, and eleven sound projection modes that allow you to simulate any type of home theatre system, youâ€™ll be the one calling the shots for your home audio sound. Plus, Yamahaâ€™s Unisound technology allows you to line up the volume of all of your audio, included changes that happen between television shows and commercials, so there arenâ€™t any surprises while youâ€™re watching (or just listening). If music is more your game, Yamaha puts a little English on your sound by providing a compressed music enhancer that restores frequencies normally lost in MP3s and other forms of compressed music. With better bass and a more pronounced beat, your music collection will be a cut above the rest.

More than meets the HDMI

With such a simple sound solution, one would expect connections would be simple as well. Yamaha doesnâ€™t disappoint with the YSP2200. Rather than making you go through hoops to connect your HD devices for optimal sound, the YSP2200 includes three HDMI inputs, and a single output to your HDTV, making sure that you can get all your favorite HD components connected. Plus, if your HDTV shares the v.1.4 HDMI specification with the YSP2200, the audio return channel capability can eliminate extra audio cables. And the cherry on top of this audio sundae? The YSP2200 is compatible with HDMI CEC found on most HDTVs, so that when you turn your HDTV on or off, the sound projector will follow its lead.

I have this unit set up in a glass patio room which is up as a tv roomdinning area. Not an ideal home theatre environment. Auto set up was very easy to run but I was not very satisfied with the results. I tweaked some settings which did improve the sound slightly but I am still not that impressed. I was hoping for a simulated surround sound effect but no luck. At best it just improves the sound of my Samsung 3D LED tv. No surround effect at all. Sub woofer is unimpressive. I am not sure that my disappointment is the fault of the Yamaha or the make up of the room. I probably expected too much of this product for my room. I would probably return the Yamaha in exchange for a true surround system but I hate to return a product because of my own unrealistic expectations. My transaction with Vanns was excellent and I highly recommend them.

I was looking for a quality soundbar with a sub. The experts here at Vanns lead me to the YSP 2200. All I can say is it is AMAZING!!! The ease of set up, the sound...where does it come from? That is the question. Yamaha hit a home run with it. The highs mids and lows are simply unbelievable. The surround has looking around the room to see where the speakers are. Watching TV is now a joy with the crisp clear dialogue, and movies - I like to be immersed in whatever I watch and finallly I am.

Great product, sounds great 5.1 surround. Fits nice below the screen without block the picture. East to set up. Bass from the sub sound great. Excellent customer service. Remote control had some scratches but over all happy with the ysp-2200.

I love the YSP-2200 but the installation instructions need a lot of improvement. They are virtually non-existent. Still the sound is great, the profile is great and it does everything I wanted it to do and more.
