Precision Converters
The RCDW500C's 24-bit DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) system brings higher resolution and precision in the digital to analog conversion process. The added resolution of this high bit-rate converter realizes wider dynamic range and lowers noise levels, providing great sound performance for CD-R and CD-RW playback as well as standard CDs. When you record through the Analog input, the Super Bit Mapping (SBM) function enables you to record a 24-bit high quality sound source by converting it to a 16-bit source without reduction in sound quality. This is made possible by incorporating a noise-shaping filter in the 24-bit A/D converter of the unit, which has a frequency range designed to cover the range of human hearing. This allows you to archive older formats (like that groovy vinyl collection) onto great sounding, longer lasting, digital CD-R discs.
Making Copies
A major benefit to having a dual deck system is the ability to dub directly from one deck to the other. The RCDW500C offers not only normal speed synchronized recording, but also high speed synchronized recording that allows you to dub a CD at about four times normal speed. There are also manual recording options, and when recording from an analog source, you also have the advantage of record level control with an L/R level meter to assist you in determining the right level. This well-designed dual deck system makes it easy to create your own high quality CDs.
Play It Again (And Again)
When you're done recording, there are a number of ways to enjoy listening to your CDs. In addition to normal playback, you can use Program Play to set up your own playlist. Using Repeat Play, you can play selected tracks (or entire discs) repeatedly in any play mode. Any way you listen to it, this recorder/player is more than capable of providing hour upon hour of outstanding entertainment.
