It can travel through walls
You're close to achieving all of your home-theater dreams. You've got the 60" HDTV, the HD receiver, the Blu-ray Disc player, the DVR, the HD satellite receiver, 7.1-channel surround sound system, and Harmony universal remote. There's just one thing missing . . . you'd really rather not see any of it (well, except for the stylish HDTV and speakers, of course). In effect, you'd like complement your flat panel HDTV's sleek look with a clean, uncluttered home theater area. The only problem is, you've got all those other A/V components sticking out like a sore thumb. It's time to take full advantage of one of your Harmony remote's most powerful features . . . RF signal transmission. Because your Harmony remote can transmit A/V commands as a radio frequency signal, you're free to install all your A/V components out-of-sight in a cabinet or closet. (RF signals have the useful little feature of being able to travel through walls). All you need is a Harmony RF Wireless Extender. Here's how it all works. First, you install all your A/V components inside a cabinet or closet. Second, you place the RF Wireless Extender inside the closet with the A/V components, and plug it in. Third, you connect the Extender to your components using the four included dual IR emitters and the IR inputs on your A/V components. Fourth, you close the closet door, sit down on the couch, and begin operating your system with your Harmony remote. The Extender inside the cabinet receives the commands from the remote, translates them into an IR signal, and then communicates that signal to the A/V components. Voilà, the clutter-free home theater you always wanted.
