When you're juggling a phone, MP3 player, a set of keys, luggage, groceries, children, and trying to organize your day it's no surprise that something can get forgotten. MicroTrax microdot technology can help by attaching sub-millimeter identification tags to your item using a water-based adhesive (visible under ultra-violet light) that contain information unique to you to help identify it as yours. Plus, because MicroTrax are so small, they can be put in multiple places on your keys, cell phone, MP3 player, umbrella, laptop, or other prone-to-lose item so that they are both easier to find, and harder to remove (just in case it's found by someone with very few scruples).

To make sure that your item is returned to you, MicroTrax registers your kit to you, along with contact information for you, in order to facilitate the return of your property. Finders can call the 800-number on the attached sticker to contact MicroTrax, and let them know they've found a lost item. Micro-what technology?

Microdots are not a new technology. Originally, they were used to transport classified information during World War II. Less than the size of a grain of sand, this patented technology allows for large amounts of information to be recorded on a very small space. By encoding 226 characters of information, MicroTrax and law enforcement organizations worldwide can connect the dots between you and your lost items. While the dots themselves are invisible to the naked eye, MicroTrax's water based adhesive appears when exposed to ultra-violet light, so that even if the information sticker is removed, there's still a way to tell the information is there.

When you combine the microdot technology and a subscription from MicroTrax, you receive full recovery services from them, including 24-hour customer support, and website features that let you check on the status of your registered items. If an item is found, you can even monitor its progress back to you. Subscriptions through Micro-Trax start at $3.95 per month, but can also be purchased at $39.95 for a full year (giving you 2 months free). I recently acquired an Ipad -- & wanted to make sure it wouldnt be stolen if I misplaced it. I had heard about Microtrax and decided to research the effectiveness of their product on the internet. After much research, I decided to buy. It was extremely easy! I received the product within two days. I attached the Microdots and Microtrax security stickers on my Ipad, Wallet, Keychain, Iphone, Blackberry, My Flat Screen TV in my garage, & my wifes keys. I feel so much better that the chance of petty crime has been eliminated with my purchase. It is also a very quality lost & found! Well worth the $$$. They say -- the worst time to buy this type of product is after a theft

I ordered this on a Thursday afternoon, UPS Ground, and while I dont live too far from Vanns, I fully expected to see it early the next week. Imagine my surprise when my kit arrived the VERY NEXT DAY!.

I ripped it open and am so excited to register my portable electronics with the stickers and micro-dots. I put one on my phone immediately. If I lost that, Id really be bummed. Its not so much the cost of replacement, but the time to get everthing set up and working again. That would be HOURS lost.

I hope I never do loose anything, but if I do, my chances of getting it back went WAY up.

The wallet card is cool too. I put it in the little window thingy where a drivers license usually goes, so the Reward for return is right there when you open the wallet.
